Three hundred years ago a young man asked the Titans for such a favor. He became the ruler of the human kingdom, choosing to remain in power for over a thousand years before anyone would even be capable of deposing him. He keeps the magical nature of his reign a secret, and is slowly destroying the kingdom that he rules.
