America is getting trapped in debt, and the warning signs are everywhere. Auto repossessions are surging, the average new car is approaching $50,000, car payments and insurance are crushing household budgets, and millions of Americans are struggling to keep up with rising costs. Credit-card debt, medical bills, housing costs, gasoline, groceries and utilities are all competing for the same paycheck. This isn’t simply about people forgetting to pay their bills—many Americans simply don’t have enough money left after paying for everyday life.

In this video, Dan breaks down the growing American debt crisis, rising auto-loan delinquencies, repossessions, expensive cars, Cybertruck prices, credit-card debt, medical debt, housing sales and the decline of cash buyers. We also look at personal finance, emergency funds, insurance, household budgets and the difficult choices people are making just to survive. The American consumer is running out of financial room, and these debt problems could become an even bigger economic story. iAllegedly — a news channel focused on the stories that matter to your money, your business and your future.

Only the rich ones with a spending problem. We middle class don't have any credit, or luxuries to use it on if we had it. We live in old trailers alone, drive 30 year old cars, and eat mostly beans and rice. We can't afford teeth or health or running water. No debts whatsoever, and healthy retirement contributions. Rich people problems, as usual.

If you're 40, and you've behaved like a 20 year old with credit since you were 20, you'd better get a grip. Start getting out of debt right now! If you continue to behave like a 20 year old, you'll be checking receipts at Walmart when your 75.

@treavey1 says:

they keep saying how great our economy is and how strong consumer spending is- all of which are grossly distorted by capex spending on AI and its chips

I lived in a homeless shelter in high school, but only two days after graduation went in the Marines, started college on base, earned my bachelor's when I got out, busted my back by working ridiculous hours of 12, 16, even 24+ hour shifts sometimes, saved money, and managed to retire at only 46. 100% DEBT FREE – no mortgage (own two homes, one is a rental which provides residual income), no auto loans, no student loans, no credit card debt, no medical debt, NOTHING! Wife and I can literally live very comfortably off of $15K per year – ALL IN. Love being 100% debt free! ????

@josephcavanaugh3558 says:

During con-Vid my Barber retired by force of a holes. I bought a Wahl hair clipper set with all attachments. Kept it short at first, got good at it. Now when I cut my hair I buy a share of Energy Transfer. No barber shop for me, unless someone is treating. For older men it's easy!

I haven't found a job in over a year. Thank goodness I saved cause it is impossible to find anything. They play you like a fool and laugh about it behind the scenes. Stay strong and believe there's honest people in this world.

@Mul-j1t says:

I have health insurance. But I adopted holistic medicine and find I don't have much need for it. I cured diabetic foot ulcers, diabetes, exema/scales and epadema/swelling in my feet. A ten year old hole in my right eye. In the last year. Holistic medicine.

@Mul-j1t says:

My ex called me a loser in front of my daughter. Today I own my home, my car and have no debt. My daughter uses one word to describe me. That word is strong. I think she made a big mistake letting me get away.

@markturner5858 says:

the average person never see's the deals your rich friend gets because that's not how the usa operates.

@teams3345 says:

Not at all Dan! The economy is rocking on now. Where do you get your data. California???

@CarlSpackler-e4d says:

CT will be discontinued – very soon. Guaranteed. Not even Tesla can throw away the money associated with the tiny run rates they are producing. They have to sell them to Elon's other companies, like SpaceX and The Boring Co.

@billsmith9711 says:

I have no debt but that doesn't mean my life is fulfilling.

I am debt free but, basic cost of living keeps going up. I'm working on the day I become homeless! I do already have a two man tent.

@GEORGESTEPHANIEKATE says:

The current war and high oil prices definitely increase the odds of a recession. In a crisis, people need dollars, so expect gold to sell off initially like we saw in 1975. Holding cash in the short term might be a great idea so you can acquire more hard assets at lower prices, and I'm thinking of increasing my cash position just for this. Navigating this takes skill, which is why long & short-term trading strategies provide the best stability as markets adjust. I managed to grow my portfolio from 100k to 532k recently. Thanks again, Jayden Lindsey, for the traditional trading acumen that makes this possible!

@kevinfestner6126 says:

Apt analogy, The guy with the spinning plates. I wonder how many non-retirees taking their Vegas vacation are financing it with debt and buying high ticket items on credit card.

I know it's irrelevant, but I have this chap at work who saved all of his life, invested, bought used cars, drives a 22 year old bottom of the line Toyota because it's reliable and gets great mileage and low insurance, lives under his means, and brags about paying off his mortgage on a t home purchased after the crash. 15;years without a vacation. He's a multi millionaire, no kidding, on mediocre paying jobs. You would never know. The peace on his face is glowing.

No one asks him for financial advice, surpringly. Why, because he does not live like a multi millionaire, except I ask him for advice.

As a contrast, those around me asks for financial advice from a guy who drives a newish BMW, vacations seven times a year, credit card debt and lives by the seat of his pants. Why? He lives an exciting life, a life everyone dreams of. His last trip was Vienna.

Dan, this is human nature. The multi millionaire is boring, not worthy of a Tic Tock vid.

Everybody here is less fortunate than Mike Trout.

@tommycolton5876 says:

Worked 80-100 weeks from 18-30. At one time, when I lived in NY, I worked FOUR jobs…three hospital jobs and an auditing job on weekends. Gotta work hard now and invest early. If you live hand-to-mouth when you are in your Fifties or older, ya gonna be poor going into retirement and having to work PT. Have a friend in that boat.

@tomcat6735 says:

In California, if you don't drive a super car you are not keeping up with the Jones. BMW, Lexxus and Mercedes Benz are not even on the list.

@craigmiles8594 says:
