GOP Raising the debt ceiling? I thought that was BAD? See the “it’s my turn to spend your tax dollars” pattern here. Each party acknowledged the risk of borrowing more than you take in and that’s inflation. Inflation follows and hits the next president who comes into office. The new president is than blamed if that president isn’t from the same party that triggered it. Wars are inflationary and not good for the economy! Vietnam? That continued war triggered the inflation Jimmy Carter was blamed for. Reagan benefited. He ran up more debt by spending on the military. Bush raised taxes and balanced the budget. It cost him his second term. Clinton benefited. The seeds of disaster are always sown by previous administrations and are always blamed on the current guy.
