Independent analyses, ranging from Yale University to the Wharton School to the Congressional Budget Office, have each said that President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill will add trillions of dollars to the U.S. deficit over the next 10 years. Yet, this year, the U.S. deficit is already exceeding 6 percent of GDP, a level roughly 63 percent higher than the average in the past five decades. And unlike past spikes, the current one isn’t driven by war or economic crisis, leading many to worry. In this documentary, through dozens of interviews with experts including Former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, macro investor Ray Dalio and Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen, CNBC’s Leslie Picker explores what will happen if the deficit is not reined in.

I think it's important to stick to stocks that are immune to economic policies. AI stocks that have the potential to power and transform future technologies. It seems AI is the trajectory most companies are taking, including even established FAANG companies. Maybe there are other recommendations?

@vincentorlando6767 says:

Good, factual content. I think CNBC could have gotten more and higher quality experts to cover the Debt spiral. I never heard of most of the experts in the video.

Who benefited from all this congressional. spending..not the normal American.

America can always pay other countries with war and unrest..

@bishaktojeebon says:

The analysis is faulty. In first place the problem is how the debt spiralled so much? Truth is, it was manufactured by printing dollar in much excess than it's GDP could generate in a proportion. US manufactured wars by printing and allowing that to go offshore. Then it started borrowing it back and repaying by printing more – and every time it hit the ceilings, the senate was staged in the front to legitimise the borrowing. It's the same vicious loop that a high school book on economics teaches not to follow. The benefit it enjoyed by leveraging it's offshore housing is now a headache that will take every other economy into peril because we all are now slave of dollar. If one rejects it, it looses a lot, keeping it makes loosing slowly but for prolonged periods. It's like now a bad stock that's having some uncontrolled floats and there's no circuit breaker to save a day when situation plays! It will take at least few decades to slowly get out of this big trouble – but not entirely because US will never end it's debt, rather it will increase year after year and make dedollarisation literally impossible. Huh… a global nuisance in all formats
