the root cause of the issue is our system itself! without improving the system, we will continue to keep repeating history! in the past we were lucky we can abuse the power we have, but us hegemony is going away, since every country is fighting back for being bully, so learn to accept the new multipolar world that is already here, otherwise, usa will become worse!

How about this for a fix….just like my house hold you make the bill you pay the bill, Biden time for you to take some of the millions your and your family has collected, you pay the bills you created on the American peoples back!!!!

Mike N says:

Hope they don't reach a deal. US should transition to Pay-As-You-Go and only spend tax revenues as they come in. Prioritize spending for obligations and defense then cut everywhere else. Even lay off some bureaucrats. Become a government that is financially prudent.

**** says:

Quote : 'Biden's Billionaire Minimum Income Tax will ensure that the very wealthiest Americans pay a tax rate of at least 20 percent on their full income ,' Biden said : “This minimum tax would make sure that the wealthiest Americans no longer pay a tax rate lower than teachers and firefighters." … “ No billionaire should be paying a lower tax than somebody working as a school teacher or a firefighter .”

**** says:

Quote continued : Claw back funding from the Internal Revenue Service – “Republicans also vowed to “defund Biden’s I.R.S. army” by rescinding the bulk of new funding that the tax collection agency was given to improve customer service and crack down on tax cheats . The Inflation Reduction Act approved $80 billion in additional funding for the I.R.S., which has been struggling to deal with backlogs of tax filings and answer taxpayer calls because of declining resources over the years’.

**** says:

Another Quote : "There is a place and time for negotiations, and that’s our annual budget and our annual appropriations process . We cannot afford to default. Putting Americans at risk of higher mortgage payments, jeopardizing people’s retirement security, and all the other things that flow from a possible default. It is almost cataclysmic if we were to default and even to have the brinksmanship that brings us to the verge of that is so dangerous for our economy. It has incredible manner ramifications, so people should not have to go through that ."

**** says:

Quote continues: “America pays their bills, and our country needs to do the same. This is debt that has already been incurred much of it under the previous presidential administration , and we pay our bills. There is so much room for negotiation including leverage for that negotiation, after we take care of it. We have an annual budget process , and an annual appropriations process and they have leverage in that. There is no reason why we should not sit down and solve these big issues, but not while we put Americans at risk ."

After Bush, when Obama came to office in Jan 2009, the US economy was in a deep recession, with falling real GDP, high unemployment and rising levels of government borrowing. Then came Trump who undid it all, and now Biden is cleaning up Trump's mess.

kelly hno says:

Obama tax hikes on rich didn’t hurt economy, or rich…. it neither slowed their income growth nor hurt the economy. The top 1 percent of earners managed to increase their share of the nation’s income at about the same pace after their taxes were raised as they had before. While Trump proposed steep tax cuts that would benefit primarily the richest 1 percent, stating his plan would accelerate economic growth by spurring more spending and investment.

Most Americans pay their taxes on time and believe this is their civic duty. Still, the country loses nearly $190 billion per year due to underreporting and underpayment of Taxes. Both individuals and corporations play their role in this situation, which messes up the economy and results in Budget Cuts. The United States loses the most money toTax Evasion:

1)US 188.8 billion

2)China 66.8 billion

3)Japan 46.9 billion

4)India 41.2 billion

5)France 19.8 billion

6)Germany 15 billion

7)Australia 6.1 billion

8)Spain 5.5 billion

9)South Korea 1.1 billion

10)United Kingdom 1.1 billion

foreal foreal says:

Most common types of Tax Evasion in the US. Underreporting = 68% Individual Income Tax; 21% Employment Income Tax; 11% Corporation Income Tax:

• Underreporting 84% = $386 Billion

• Underpayment 9% = 39 Billion

• Non-filing 7% = 32 Billion
