Monet, I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze and have been experiencing a continuous oil leak and had to replace so much while the mechanic “tried to figure out” what was wrong. After a year of problems another mechanic stepped in and it’s been okay- for now. But I totally understand your position and you did what you needed to do with the funds you had available to you. Hope you aren’t too hard on yourself this was a very good approach to your situation and I know you’ll be tackling that debt soon enough, my dear!
You should be so proud of yourself as regardless you still on track to clear your student loan debt. Your car loan was a necessity I wouldn't be hard on yourself as you limited the amount you needed to loan thanks to all your hard work and savings that you accumulated up to now. I am certain that you will be debt free soon as you are motivated and still focused on your objective!
You’re doing an amazing job and like others have said, sometimes life throws us curveballs! I’m 37 and the one thing I know for sure is that life is an unpredictable journey! The fact that you have been so diligently preparing and saving is what ultimately makes the difference and it may not feel like it but you are in a great position! This year is going to be an amazing year for you!!!

Baby… DO NOT beat yourself up! You purchased a much needed car. You didn't blow money stupid stuff. Just continue with the program and you will pay that off as well!
I understand feeling guilty. Please don't beat yourself up. Having only $4000 left to pay compared to the $10,000+ some people have is minimal.
If anything just learn from this experience and take the lesson learned.?
Don't listen to the criticism from others!! I'm so glad you have the money from the savings challenge. It sucks you couldn't have used it for student debt. Your mom and friend were right: You WILL bounce back and pay off these loans this year!!
I am SO PROUD of you. You have done an amazing job and have been an inspiration for so many, in particular me. Dont beat yourself up over life… things are bound to happen and the best we can do is try to be as prepared as we possibly can. I am sure you can muerder this debt in 8 months, no sweat! Girl! You did exactly what you needed to do. We had to do the same thing to, and the loan kill’s me but now I know my babies are riding safely and I’m hoping to drive it till it dies.
