michael myers says:

Many of us were paying over 8%. We had no choice if we wanted to go to school it’s praying on students, and it’s a scam.

American Expat says:

Here in Europe, college is largely free since this society has made a decision it's in the best interests of the society to have more educated people. They are right. One reason that the US is losing the battle against China is that we have shackled an entire generation of ungodly debt. College should be free – not to help individuals, but rather so that our society is better prepared to go toe to toe with China, since they subsidize it. We want more educated people – not less. In the business world, we call this a 'stay in business' investment. However, some people are just concerned with themselves – and not the society as a whole.

Joe Hodge says:

Taxpayers will suffer as usual

Robert Jones says:

So are they going to pay my mortgage just because home prices have gone up dramatically? It was a choice to go to college, and now others should be burdened by your choice?

Pixel Martyr says:

Get rid of the fees, interest, penalties and most of all. Get rid of the student loan servicing industry. The student loan servicing industry contributes nothing to economic growth. It's probably the biggest parasite on the American economy that exists.

Pixel Martyr says:

honor system. problem solved

Tu Do says:

Both of my kids are in college right now and working hard to pay there way without taking any loan. They should get a 10k for each check if the 10k debt are forgiven. This is only fair!

C Dun says:

I worked full time and lived in my car and paid off all my student debt. I’m totally for eliminating student debt so that nobody else needs to do that crsp

Chris Puchala says:

Judd is right. Make him Secretary of Education now.

My 2 Cents says:

Give the loan forgiveness as a Tax credit. When they get a job that pays taxes they get a tax credit to pay their student loan. That way it is an incentive to get a job. Just paying their loan will stimulate the economy and add to inflation.

RTheBruce says:

Funny. Hardworking people will have to pay the bills of frat students.

Baheeg Deek says:

How about everyone pays for themselves. You know, like an adult.
Liberalism is a mental disease.
