An RNs salary is like 60-70k. That’s almost double the median salary of all workers. What the heck is this guy talking about?
I keep getting into accidents because I own a car, gee i wonder why
Why do people need more than ONE credit card? Oh, I know…it's because when you owe 8 different people a HUNDRED dollars a month, it sounds "easier" and better than owing one person EIGHT HUNDRED hundred a month.
Having multiple credit cards is like having multiple diseases. It's far easier to "cure" one disease than it is to cure eight.
#1 never buy anything on credit you can’t afford to repay immediately
Never pay interest
Accumulate reward points.
#2 pay off the balance immediately
Only 8k He should build a pay that off in no time cancel all credit cards. . No exceptions and knock them out one at a time
I'm investing in Ramsey+ asap
Because he is irresponsible, that's why. I love my CCs. Just got a card, spent on necessaries and traded bonus points for $550 Target gift cards. Will it make me rich? No, but $550 bonus is better than $0 with plastic debit. The bank still eats your overdraft fees with debit. I track all of the cards via spreadsheet and I check transactions every couple days.
It’s the I wants, everybody has them, it’s hard to say no when you want cool stuff every other day.
To paraphrase Henny Goodman from many decades ago, if it hurts when you do this, don't do this.
Don't use the credit cards. It's that simple.
Dave’s back!!!!
So many people on here trying to make a case for credit cards. They obviously aren’t big Dave followers, otherwise they wouldn’t have them. There’s TONS of data to support not having them, even if you think you’re financially responsible.
This is how stupid it is to have credit/debt. I had (keyword) a single credit card to try to boost my score to buy a house… I would put approx $500 a month on it and pay it off every month. My score actually went DOWN consistently! Zero point in doing it. Cut it up and closed it today. Just use cash. It’s honestly better than any credit score.
When he mentioned that he was broke and had Rachel, they’ve came a long way. God bless
Tell him to leave his family in Florida, pick up a travel RN job with agency for a year or two. He will make enough money to pay off his debts.
It's not enough to cut up a card – it can still be used without the physical plastic in your hand. Close the account
Hey Dave, your videos made me pay off credit card debt. I just owe on my truck 20k but the thing is I use it for work everyday. I use to have a beat up truck but the thing is I was always putting work to it getting it fixed. I was wondering if I should keep doing 300 dollar payments or what to do. I drive about 500 miles a week. And I haven’t fixed anything on this truck just regular maintenance which cost about 100 a month or so.
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich
I'm really surprised he didn't know you can close a credit card before it's paud off. I did it multiple times. The bills keep coming until it's paid off but you can't use it anymore.
He said the pay, as a registered nurse, isn't that great? Nurses are paid WELL.
My wife and I struggled with the same problem. CUT THEM UP AND THEN SHRED THE LITTLE PIECES! When you can't physically see or feel them you can beat the CC game!
Use credit cards if you’re financially responsible
As someone with 4 credit cards i have never missed a payment nor have i ever paid interest.
Its the user not the credit card. This guy would blow over a million dollars
Maybe the laws differ by state, but I can close my credit cards with a balance on them.
GET A CREDIT CARD. IT'S OK!!! Ramsey teaches to be in control of your budget right? So his "you're most likely to spend more money with a credit card" argument is irrelevant if you stick to a budget. I travel the world for free thanks to my credit cards. And guess what, I take those thousands of FREE dollars that I would've spent on traveling, every year, and I invest it into a high yielding index fund. By the time I'm 50, it would be like as if someone gave me half a million dollars to travel the world. Oh and also my credit score is 800, I can get anything I want in this life for cheap. I'm about to buy why 3rd CASH FLOW rental property. At this rate, by the time I'm 50, I will have 5 properties all paid for (thanks to my renters) Don't listen to Dave on credit cards, it's horrible advice. Do I "need" the points? No, I have a good income, I can afford to travel. But nothing is better than FREE
