This is very scarey! I am so glad that my grandmother instilled in us from
an early age the importance of saving. My father is very reckless with
money but my sister and I have never had credit card debt and have been
able to live financially stress free lives. I strongly believe that
financial education should be part of the school syllabus. It should be an
absolute basic!!
Im 19 years old and Im really becoming terrified of this fucking world and

Why do people think debt is a bad thing? Debt is a necessary component to
the economy. If you can’t take care of your debt and spend responsibility,
that’s not the fault of debt but the fault of you as a person.

be avoided…not a house ,a car, credit cards…NONE…ZERO…means NO DEBT
as someone else controls you…. guess they missed that chapter in the

The problem with this documentary is that it runs on the premise that “not
getting into debt is good”. The problem with that is that almost all the
current money in circulation was brought into existence through someone
borrowing from a bank. In our current system if people (and governments)
stop borrowing money then that will be catastrophic (look at the GFC). We
need to change the monetary system and ensure Governments issue the
currency (rather than greedy private banksters).

*&^%$# in congress getting ready to completely cream the US economy —
documentary. i guess more people are tuned in to how much weight Kim

have no intentions of paying the debt back, so why care? Banks print

The banks WANTS as many americans indebted as possible. Truth is they don`t
have to make much efforts in achieving that since americans are encouraged
everywhere to spend as much as possible. No one will EVER tell the public
to tighten the belt. It`s all about the american impatience & desire for
instant gratification. Over spending/consumption will not get the US out of

Can we live without credit cards? Yes, I have lived with out them for a

I think you do not understand anything at all. the fact that you do not
have enough money will not be solved by borrowing money because if you are
in so bad situation you will end up being much worse if you have to pay
interest. if ie better to starve for a week until you get money of eat from
dumpster than borrow money. If you think that you are poor today and you
will be rich tomorrow you are just stupid you wont be rich ever if you
borrow money.
You say we should be prepared for anything. Some of us tend to say what you
say because we’re comfortable, good health have a job a place to live some
money in the bank and some rights. Until all that is taken away from us
only then do we feel reality. Are you prepared for the government shut down
..because it’s going to get worse. During the government shut down they
keep buying weapons that they can’t afford on a messed up budget while
cutting beneficial programs call the government idiots!!
The tragedy is that some actually celebrate the decline of boys graduating
and scream how great it is that girls are now overachieving boys. The truth
is these girls graduating from subjects like women studies an social
studies and such. No one seam to despair that there is a serious shortage
of doctors, engineers and entrepreneurs , but hey you have got millions of
females stacking shelves in the supermarkets with bullshit diplomas waiting
for a white knight to take care of them.
They are trying to create inflation to make devalue debts but the problem
is that US industry is dead and so it does not matter what they do, there
is no way to pay even devalued debts

People are under the impression going to college will land them a job. In
reality if you don’t study engineering, medical or geology(only for the
oil) you’re really taking a gamble. I know here its about 5 thousand a
semester and scholarships are less impressive and few in numbers compared
to 10 years ago. I know a girl who graduated and wanted to be a teacher and
that year the city fired 500 teachers.
I don’t live on credit, I have lots of money saved, and I am not a slave!!
