The OULS recently had the opportunity to work with barrister and CEDR accredited mediator Suzanne Rab from Serle Court Chambers to help in the making of a short film on mediation. The film was written and produced by Suzanne Rab and was shot on location at Serle Court. It stars OULS members Abigail Scott and Peter Savory who played the lawyers for each of the two parties and was directed and edited by Gwyn Hopkins.
The purpose of the film is to promote mediation as a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) and it is being shown to legal practitioners and their clients to compliment a series of presentations on the subject.

Tell Weinstein, to mediation
Great mediation video, I feel so relaxed that I'm going to sell all my weed, thank you, so much, let's be YouTube pals?
Mediation is only an option if both parties are willing to take compromise end of
Great video
The video was okay. At the end of each party stating their positions, the mediator did not summarise. It seemed she played no part in facilitating communication between the parties. This gives an impression that the dispute did not need a mediator in the first instance. Consequently, trainee mediators will hardly learn from this clip.
I can't believe I'm the first person to comment on this in 4 years. Granted, this video is boring as shit, but only because the type of mediation I'm interested in is workplace conflict resolution, at the moment. To the next person who randomly comes across this video and sees this one and only comment, many blessings to you, good sir or madam. It's nice to be lonely sometimes. ?
