Brother I stumbled onto this video by accident but your honesty left me totally gobsmacked. Respect and kudos, I made the same mistakes as you but I'm happy to say I came out the other side more due to luck than judgment. And in my case: CitiBank – screw you and your 24% interest rate. I related when you basically said you didn't see it coming. Much love.

Thanks for sharing. I'm also an eternal optimist. Was sadly locked in a 5yr bad business lease with a personal guarantee. Lost 100G by the end of it. I can tell you I've felt exactly the same. There was no frivolous spending on those cards btw. Nonetheless, had creditors calling. Creditor cancelled my cards, and charged me penalty APR's. Was spending over 15G a year in interest alone. Digging myself out now.

Dave Ramsey is the bomb. We paid off 98,000 in 23 months and paid off mortgage two years later. It feels so good to not owe monies to ANY ONE – you add to that with a healthy 6 month emergency fund and life is good. Keep pushing forward

Such a real video. I have recently had an experience where people are starting to "help" pay for things to go out with friends. I feel so bad I can't do it on my own. I try to say no but they are very insistent and I just don't believe I deserve the help. I need to fix my financial situation and not being able to do these things feels like the appropriate punishment.

Number four is so real. You don’t know the weight unless you have the weight. No way to truly understand the freedom of no debt. Once I’m out I’m never going back. I have made nice headway and will keep going. Hopefully my journey ends in 1.5 years. Then I have a new journey. ???
