A Vancouver family continues to face the repercussions of high-interest payday loans after their vulnerable son fell into more than $45,000 of debt in the span of months.

The lender has no choice; they are not legally allowed to say “no, you’re mentally disabled-I can’t lend to you”
He must have gotten the paperwork together in order to get a payday loan-and you need a lot of documentation to secure a loan
People are well-informed of the interest rates and these people are notoriously bad risks which is why no bank will touch them
