For me debt review is a good option if you are really into paying your debt , no other expenses ..it did not work for me because I despirately needed a car and ended buying it on another person's name ..and I had a baby so I pulled out …..my advise is if you are realy going to be in debt review , don't add expenses , deal with your accounts..pay more than what is prescribed by the counsellor , starting with the lowest debt , while paying the prescribed amounts on other accounts …the trick is to remove accounts one by one until too are left with the bigger debt which you might also negotiate discounts to settle towards the end

@nicollete, many people do not understand what transpires when you are under debt review, please create a video about that and the sad thing is after debt review moat people don't get the help they need to clear their names with the credit bureaus,I have seen articles about people struggling to get their names cleared and obtaining a clearance certificate.

I have a story to tell regarding debt review ????. So this one faithful afternoon I received a call from SACA I remember I spoke to a guy by the name of Michael Kgomo. He told me that I will pay less of what I have been paying for the same duration that I was left of, reason being they talk with everyone I owe to reduce debt insurance and any other little things that come with paying back a loan I was like cool this is a relief that time I was still left with a year to paying off Capitec, am still paying SACA even today after 2 years. Tried by all means to cancel it, I can't and I still have about two more years to pay.

I am under debt review at that time it helped me from drowning but I do regret it now because I am stuck and feel imprisoned I can literally not do anything, do you perhaps know how I can get myself out of it?

Motheo Lebelo says:

Some years ago when my finances where not balancing well due to my financial mistakes i made. I considered Debt review but after doing a lot research. I did not it Because of some shocking and horrible stories I read. my finances are still in recovery mode and I managed to survive all continuous interest rates of late that we had without taking extra DEBT.

I told myself that for the next 2-3 years, I would rather live and not spoil myself in any other way as long as i can service all my DEBTS monthly and depend on my income as is without taking extra Loan then all is well.

It is a rough road to take on but there is Light at the end of the Tunnel.

And some people don't quite understand how difficult it is to forgive yourself for making that decision when you could have gone another route.
