How many times do you knuckleheads need to see this legislative distraction occur before you finally figure it out?
Apparently, it is REALLY easy to fool you.
You always get fooled into believing that we need to issue our government more of OUR MONEY to blow on worthless BS that has nothing to do with your own personal life.
"Debt ceiling"
Do you understand that?
They're raising the credit card limit.
We don't have THAT money.
It's fake money.
This is why they no longer teach economics and civics in high school.
It is so they can fool you into believing that They're working for you.
They're not.
They're stealing our money from us.

Duncan Mc Goo says:

In wasteful spending report, there was a whopping $482,276,543,907 of waste in 2022.

How do you think the over half a million homeless Americans would feel about our spending $2,100,000 to encourage Ethiopians to wear shoes (NIH)? $50,000,000 to boost the Tunisia travel sector during COVID-19 (USAID)? $1,700,000,000 to maintain 77,000 empty Federal buildings (GSA)? Or, how about the $17,000,000 spent on unused hotel rooms for illegal immigrants (DHS) and the $168,000,000 spent to help illegal immigrants avoid deportation (DHS)?

I’m not homeless, but it makes me furious!

What do you think the millions of food-insecure would think about our spending $210,069,000 on basic education projects in Jordan (USAID); $3,000,000 to construct a Gandhi museum, or $1,100,000 for training mice to binge drink alcohol (NIH)?

Its a shame it passed. I was hoping our elected officials would actually solve our country's debt issue instead of postponing it. I can't perpetually raise my CC limits or wait to service that debt properly for years. Im 25 and dont care about your social spending or military spending.

Thinking maybe some of the republican party is waking up to reality. You are allowing the MAGAs to take down this country. People are going against your party. You are not for the people and Americans are becoming aware. Where will that leave you?

The fact that the debt limit became negotiable makes any of the details irrelevant; the ultra-right is now empowered with holding virtually any bill or process as hostage. This is a disastrous blow to the democratic process.
