Nancy Paffrath says:

Have a Home Equity Line of Credit with bank, variable interest rate, which has me paying $97.49 on 20, 000. Also currently have Credit cards 10,000. plus. Living on 1000.SS
Should I consider Mortgage offer of 50,000. at 4.500%, 30 years. ????
Any suggestions might point me (away from stupid) right direction.

Barefoot Prof says:

You don't have to have a fancy expensive wedding. Get married on someone's nice lawn with a handful of folks, some free music, and have everyone bring a dish!

Barefoot Prof says:

Who needs a $27K car???? $5k will get you a great car. Get a Toyota or Honda.

muchimi says:

im 60 and in a similar situration in that I have 40 k in student debt, make 13 an hour, with a body thats breaiking, I have herniated disks so there are times that the work im doing actually hurts me. how do I make more? I was thinking uber and lfyt but need a car thats 2007 or newer. which isn't a cheap car.

subira wanita says:

Oh God l thank you that you've made me see this video. I was crazy on buying a 2018 Rav 4 as suv by sept then keep it for 10years which will put me not sure how much in debts, But, l have a second thought, my main purpose is to make n save as much as l earn. However, not sure of what used car to look for. Just sold a Toyota hutchback. Was really economical- imported in 2016 and payed cash. Really need to think twice as l will be starting out life in a new country?

Didi Glitz says:

Why do people buy 27,000 and up cars ? Is it that serious ?

Marsha Jennings says:

Why does Dave always recommend selling your car and buying a "hoopty". If you buy a used car you'll probably have to spend more money trying to fix everything that is certainly going to go wrong with it. I would disregard that bit of advice. Other than that i think Dave's advice is awesome.

Orion says:

I paid 17000 in one year and I saved up 10 000 dollars when every other year I would wrk, waste the money and not know where it went. I have a notebook that I carry everywhere with me. In it, I write how much I am getting paid and who I have to pay by the end of the pay period. However much I am left with at the end, goes to debt. It works wonders.

Susan Cordell says:

My heart was breaking for this guy as I heard his story, but the advice he received was priceless!

klaudia hennessy says:

Lol I was stressed out about 6k debt

Tony Hardman says:

This advice is an insane way to pay down debt. Don't go anywhere or do anything ever for years? I would rather be in a bit of debt and enjoy my life. Tomorrow is never promised.

jdssurf says:

So is this not enough to make bankruptcy worth it? Not saying that’s good, just curious

Mitch Viglianti says:

Bank-Rupt-Cy!!!! Get married first. Fix ur credit…rehab loan for school debt

Mr James says:

Agree with the solution. Just can't help but think that if you buy a "hooptie" it can be a money pit !

Dalstan Landers says:

Why was I laughing mid way in this ????

Wallace says:

Notice how he always asks what the marriage status. The most important financial decision you make in life. Aside from debt.

Nicki says:

whats the point go getting an old car it will blow up and cost $$

Limba Veselinovikj says:

I was watching a few videos to change my mind about these videos, but woow, people are calling with financial issues, and the only thing as an advice we give them is to STOP living, no vacation, no restaurant, no bars no clothes, in other words, stay miserable for the next 3-4 years , to get out of depth ?Really? How about to advice people on how to make more money, maybe how to invest. Most of the people who are calling are living on a very small paycheck. There are tones of inteligent ways to earn more, so yes you need to save, but encourge people to invest, or to just do a side job , on line job the world has changed, we are in the tech era , so everything is possible.

Joyful M. says:

Although I agree with with marriage now & ceremony later, I've noticed that legally when it comes to bank accounts that couples cannot touch each other's accounts unless they both are listed on those accounts & signed onto them as owners, married or not. If one spouse passes away & the living spouse is unlisted as account owner, then banks still won't allow access. I do also agree with Dave's financial method & wish this couple all the best in their future..great points Dave.

Nick says:

This is not good advice at all lol. Im only 17 and I know better. Lets say you make 3,000$ a month and you get 10 thousand in credit card debt. You put that entire 3,000$ of your paycheck and pay off the credit card debt. Then what you do is you use the credit card for all your expenses. Then you pay off the credit card debt again and you keep doing that until you have no credit card debt. and you can take the debt from your student loan and do the same thing.

CatLady LovesCats says:

Stop having kids, taking vacations, no credit cards. If you don't have the cash don't buy it. Start tithing to God and see how much comes back to you!!.

CatLady LovesCats says:

SO SELL EVERYTHING IS YOUR SOLUTION TO HOW TO START PAYING OFF YOUR DEBT! That's only good for 1 month.

Larry Long says:

Hello Dave. I just spent about 2 hours looking all over You-Tube looking for a way out of one debt. That debit is my $.4000.00 credit Card. I have choose you site to get debt free. Outside of the $.4000.00 I owe to my bank Credit Card I don't have any other debt. My total income is $.1,700.00 a month. After I pay my normal bills I have about $.350.00 left over. I do not own a car. As of right now I always pay double my Credit Card amount every month. The problem is the interest is killing me. I am just paying $125.00 a month but the amount I owe is going no where. THE bank is hitting me with $75.00 interest payments every month. What can I do Dave? Thank you. Larry.

Casey Stoner says:

Sad face.
That car debt is the nail in the coffin.

David Krapenschitz says:

A car should just be a means to get from point A to point B. Paying 27k is insane. I bought a used truck and car for $5000 from my father. Both been running great for 2 years now. Which means I saved 2 years worth of car payments and I don't plan on ever buying or financing a new car unless I'm very well off.
