A mortgage is also a form of debt. So in order to "stay in control" we should stop buying a house because of a mortgage? I am not a proponent of debt in general but not all debt is "bad debt". I am missing that in this conversation.

As someone who has a large emergency fund, that is huge for mental health!
I have a doctor treatment that’s going to cost $4300. If I do a full one time pay, I will save $300. I laughed and said “I don’t care about the $300, but I do care about not having any monthly payments (even, no interest). Think of it this way, if you stuffed the $4000 in a investment and it tanked and you lost your job, you would have to pull this money, all while still having a monthly payment. And this is why we pay the house off fast, folks.

This is pretty accurate for Ramsey. We need much more regulation on banks. If you’re middle class right now, just wait. The banks have way too much control
